We provide Cambodian primary school teachers with in-service professional development, supported by a structured mentoring program, to build dynamic, professional communities of practice. This enables them to provide Cambodian children with a good quality education.
We believe change begins with education, and we think quality teaching and learning should be available to all Cambodian children. Our work is driven by a commitment to this goal, and to strong ethical and management standards.
Our work has been recognised with international awards, and we maintain accreditations and memberships that require us to adhere to strict financial and other regulatory requirements.
SeeBeyondBorders is organised and managed as a single operating entity with offices in Australia, Cambodia and the UK. For legal and compliance reasons, SeeBeyondBorders is comprised of two legal entities, SeeBeyondBorders Australia and SeeBeyondBorders UK, each with its own board, local registrations and regulatory compliance requirements.
SeeBeyondBorders and SeeBeyondBorders UK are governed by a Board of Directors, with management delegated to the CEO. A predominantly Khmer team in Cambodia implements our education programs, supported by a small number of staff and volunteers in Cambodia, Australia and the UK.
SeeBeyondBorders is an open, transparent organisation committed to providing detailed information to partners and stakeholders about all aspects of our organisation and our activities, and to complying in full with all regulatory requirements.
SeeBeyondBorders is grateful to the many organisations and individuals that provide the funding and in-kind support that helps us deliver real impact for children in Cambodia.
SeeBeyondBorders was first registered as a charity in 2009 by Edward Shuttleworth, CEO, and his wife Kate, a Director of SeeBeyondBorders Australia and the Quality Teaching program coordinator. Since then, it has developed into a highly successful educational organisation making a real difference in Cambodia.
