2016 UNESCO-Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize - Winner

SeeBeyondBorders received this internationally acclaimed award  for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers, in recognition of our core Teach the Teacher program.

A representative from the UNESCO-Hamdan Prize judging panel explained: “SeeBeyondBorders Cambodia was selected for its thoughtful and rigorous approach…and the attention that it paid to mentoring and school-based support, not only for teachers, but for facilitators – there are no shortcuts to developing quality teachers.”

2016 UNESCO WenHui Award - Commendation

2017 WenHui Award - Honourable Commendation

Our work received further endorsement in 2017 from a different division of UNESCO. We were one of only three organisations to receive an Honourable Commendation in the 2017 WenHui Award. The theme of the award was Innovations in the Professional Development of Teachers and successful organisations demonstrated that continuous professional development must be provided and be easily accessible to enable teachers to do their job well.

Our accreditations and memberships

ACNC registration


The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) is the independent national regulator of charities. The ACNC has been set up to maintain, protect and enhance public trust and confidence in the sector through increased accountability and transparency, support and sustain a robust, vibrant, independent and innovative not-for-profit sector, and promote the reduction of unnecessary regulatory obligations on the sector.

SeeBeyondBorders is registered with ACNC.

ANCP accreditation


ANCP Accreditation

SeeBeyondBorders received accreditation in August 2017 from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT), and is now supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP).  The ANCP is an Australian Government initiative that supports the development activities of accredited Australian Non-Government Organisations (NGOs).

Only accredited NGOs are eligible to receive ANCP funding, and any organisation seeking funding must undergo a rigorous due diligence process and assessment of the outcomes of their development activities.

NEP membership

NEP Membership

NGO Education Partnership (NEP) is a membership organization that promotes active collaboration between NGOs working in education in Cambodia, and advocates on behalf of its member organizations in policy meetings and discussions with the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports (MoEYS). SeeBeyondBorders is an active member of NEP.

SeeBeyondBorders is registered (Number 1146044)with the Charity Commission for England and Wales, a government organisation that registers and regulate charities in England and Wales, to ensure the public can support charities with confidence.

ACFID membership

ACFID Membership

The Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) is the peak body for Australian non government organisations (NGOs) involved in international development and humanitarian action. Members of ACFID are bound by a Code of Conduct, a voluntary, self-regulatory industry code of good practice that aims to improve the outcomes of international development and increase stakeholder trust by enhancing the transparency and accountability of signatory organisations. ACFID provides an independent mechanism to address complaints made against member organisations believed to have breached the Code. Any unresolved complaints leveled against SeeBeyondBorders may be addressed to the ACFID complaints process.

SeeBeyondBorders is a member of ACFID, is a signatory to its Code of Conduct and is committed to adhering to the Code. 

TCC and GDR endorsement

Australian Taxation Office

SeeBeyondBorders is endorsed for charity tax concessions (TCC) with the Australian Taxation Office to receive tax deductible gifts (GDR).

UK Fundraising Regulator

UK Fundraising Regulator

The Fundraising Regulator holds the Code of Fundraising Practice for the UK. It sets and maintains the standards for charitable fundraising, and aims to ensure that fundraising is respectful, open, honest and accountable to the public and regulate fundraising in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
