Individuals

We welcome enquiries from anyone interested in supporting our work

Hundreds of people have worked with us, or given their time as volunteers, in Cambodia or in Australia and the UK.  Many others have organised fundraising activities, become donors, or provided support in other ways. If you have ideas for ways you might like to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.

Donate

Donations from individuals, families, and small groups like schools, have been a vital source of revenue for SeeBeyondBorders. Every donation is gratefully received. A regular donation is very much appreciated as it provides a reliable source of income to support our programs, but we also welcome one-off donations, no matter how small. Go to our donations page to make a one-off donation, or put the arrangements in place to become a regular donor.

Fundraise

Every year, many individuals and groups fundraise to help SeeBeyondBorders.  If you have any fundraising ideas, please contact our team and we’ll do everything we can to support you, including providing a fundraising kit and advice. Here are a few recent examples of great fundraising projects.

In 2017, Michael Meuhlheim ran in the Sydney Running Festival. With his employer, Macquarie Bank matching the funds he raised through sponsorship, he was able to donate almost $50,000 to SeeBeyondBorders. More

For the second year, SeeBeyondBorders joined Mosman Public School as one of two local charities for their annual fundraising event, Mini-Mos Community Fun Run and Fair, held in June 2017. Mini-Mos raised more than $17,000 for SeeBeyondBorders but the relationship is not just about fundraising, its about building educational links between Australia and Cambodia. More

UK supporters Samantha and David used comedy, and their milestone birthdays, to raise more than £2,000 for SeeBeyondBorders in early 2018. They hosted a hugely successful stand up comedy show, and instead of gifts, asked friends to donate to SeeBeyondBorders, and donate they did. More

Volunteer

From day one, our work has been driven by the selfless and skilled work of volunteers and we continue to provide opportunities for individuals with specific skills and experience to volunteer their time.

We welcome skilled candidates on focused short-term consultancies, or longer term assignments of up to 12 months, to support our team in Cambodia. But if you can’t come to Cambodia there may be opportunities for you to volunteer in Australia or the UK, or by working remotely from your home location. Please get in touch to find out how you can assist.

All  volunteer jobs are posted on the Work with Us page.

Teacher teams

Almost every year, we invite qualified teachers to join us in Cambodia for a two week volunteering experience, during the Australian school holidays in January, helping deliver our Quality Teaching training workshops to strengthen the development of Cambodian teachers.

Small teams of experienced primary school teachers assist in running workshops in rural village schools, transferring their knowledge and skills to Cambodian teachers. These workshops play a vital role in building Cambodian teachers’ skills and improving learning outcomes for children.

Contact us if you'd like to express interest in future visits.

Long-term volunteers in Cambodia

We continue to host long term volunteers in Cambodia to support our programs and build the capacity of our Cambodian staff, usually for six months or more. From time-to-time, we look for skills and experience in disciplines such as project management, monitoring and evaluation, IT, financial management, marketing, communications, fundraising, proposal writing, donor management, policy development, compliance, governance, statistics, data management, teaching and human resources.

Volunteers in Australia and UK

Volunteers in our UK and Australia offices provide valuable support in areas like fundraising, finance, IT administration. If you have some skills you'd like to offer, and some time to spare, we'd love to hear from you.

Details of specific volunteering opportunities will be posted on this site, however, we’d be interested in hearing from you at any time. Please send your CV to us at hr@seebeyondborders.org

Involve your company or employer

If you work for a company that might be interested in supporting SeeBeyondBorders, we have a great range of ways they can get involved, including team building programs, fundraising and sponsorship.  You can find more details about corporate partnerships here or contact us for more information.

Payroll giving

Payroll giving is a tax-effective way for you to donate to charity as it is deducted from your pre-tax earnings. It is simple to set up, and you can donate as little or as much as they like. SeeBeyondBorders is registered on the payroll giving platforms Good2Give in Australia and CAF (Charities Aid Foundation) in the UK.  Contact us  if you need help to set up payroll giving with your employer.

Raise awareness

Our biggest barrier is lack of awareness. Many people have little knowledge of Cambodia and its troubled past. Some do not even know where Cambodia is. Talk to friends, family, and anyone who’ll listen - tell them about the work of SeeBeyondBorders, and help shed some much-needed light on this often overlooked country. The children of Cambodia deserve it!

We'd also appreciate if you'd follow us and share our social media posts, and encourage others to do the same in order to get the word out there!
